Many of us bought one of those new high-tech iPhones for $600 and now the price is suddenly $399 to help boost sluggish sales and to hook all the new customers before the new gPhone comes out by Google? All I can say is that next time a high-priced personal tech item comes in from Apple, I am waiting until the price comes down a month or two later.
Of course, the excuse is that they are cutting price in time for the crucial Holiday Season, which is nearly upon us. This is a huge price cut and had I known I would have surely waited to save the $200.00 and this is exactly the reaction of many of the customers we talked to at Starbucks this afternoon. They feel betrayed by Apple ink and for many of them it was not even the money, more the principle of the thing.
When asked if they would pay the first asking price of the next new high-tech item, they said probably, maybe and no and it was about 33% each. The question is how do you feel about this fact? I suppose if you wanted one, then now you are happy that it is $200 cheaper and if you bought one for the full price, part of you says that is the premium you pay for being on the personal high-tech edge, but it still irks you.
First adopters of technology always pay a premium and bare the brunt of the R and D costs. The Apple iPhone was so highly successful that they have recouped these upfront costs and can now mass market them worldwide and lower the costs on the iPhone flagship models that are sold in the US, nevertheless there are some rather irate iPhone first adopters out there that feel like they have been betrayed. Sincerely, Lance.
The Apple iPhone has arguably had the most successful launch of any smartphone. Despite its limitations, the excitement and interest generated by this device has made Apple the envy of other smartphone manufacturers.
Although the iPhone was released as a consumer device, a surprising number of people are purchasing iPhones for business use. The factors that have made the iPhone so successful in the consumer market — ease of use, attractive user interface, superb integration with companion services — also make it attractive to the business market, traditionally the domain of the BlackBerry and smartphones from traditional mobile phone manufacturers like Nokia.
The biggest problem that iPhone users face in a corporate setting is getting access to their corporate email. Corporate email and personal email run on different systems. While the latter tends to run on publicly-accessible mail servers, corporate email is usually protected behind firewall systems, beyond the normal reach of the iPhone. As well, corporate email runs on systems like Microsoft Exchange and Lotus Notes, which are accessed differently from personal email servers.
One way to get your corporate email on your iPhone is to have copies of any mail you receive at the company email address automatically forwarded to your personal email address. How you do this depends on the email system you’re using, but it’s usually fairly straightforward to setup. It’s far from an ideal solution, however, because any replies you make to the emails come from your personal email account. Nor are the replies archived in the corporate system, unless you remember to CC your company address when you reply. You also don’t get access to all the ancillary information and features of the corporate system, such as access to appointment calendars and company address books.
A far better solution is to engage your IT department and get them to add the iPhone to their list of officially supported smartphones. There are a number of solutions available on the market for integrating the iPhone with corporate email servers, including software from leading enterprise vendors like Sybase, Apple and IBM. Convince them it’s in the company’s best interest to support the iPhone, especially in situations where corporate email must be archived for regulatory and compliance purposes.
The knee-jerk reaction is to simply ban the use of iPhones in corporate environments. This may work as a corporate policy, but employees won’t be happy having a second smartphone to deal with, especially if it’s a clunky device when compared to an iPhone. Before going that route, have the company explore the alternatives and see how easy it is to integrate the iPhone into their existing email system. It’s been done before with the BlackBerry, so why not support the iPhone as well?
Apple has recently launched its newest gadget, which is said to soar to greater heights than the Apple iPhone. This new gadget is a tablet computer called the Apple iPad. Fans of the company cannot wait to get their hands on this sleek, ultra-hip and stylish technology, which are also making tech bloggers’ lives a lot easier – they have so much to rave about the iPad.
Indeed, the Apple iPad is a must-have item. If you want to own one without having to spend your hard-earned cash, you are reading the right article.
Plan of Action
You can be an iPad tester! Yes, all you have to do is find a website that offers you the chance to test an iPad, register by filling out forms and answering surveys, and you get to keep the iPad for your leisurely use. It is that simple.
By signing up to be an iPad tester, you get to use the iPad before the rest of the consumer world does, and own it for good minus the expenses. Apple needs your opinion on their new product and as a thank you gesture for your two cents, they are giving you one for free. How cool is that!
Just remember, there is no need to pay any registration fee or any kind of charges in order to become an iPad tester. If you find a site that asks for upfront payment, DO NOT register. It is a scam! Fraudulent sites abound, especially this time when people are looking forward to the release of the iPad and many will do anything just to get one, for free in particular.
Do not allow yourself to fall victim to illegal and fraudulent sites. Be a wise consumer.
The Apple Iphone has done what most companies can only dream of. They have revolutionized the use of the cell phone. The summer launch of 2007 has made a major impact in the way people now view the cell phone market with the internet. The cell phone manufacturers have made many strides in trying to incorporate the cell phone with the internet. Text messaging and viewing .mobi websites are now available thanks to these development. That was then. This is now.
The Iphone has made a major leap in the way people view personal entertainment. The wi-fi feature allows Iphone users to surf the net without burning minutes on their phones service plan. With older cell phones, you are limited to using your minutes just to be online and surfing. With slow data speeds on cell phones, it really is harder to surf with those type of cell phones. Most cell phone displays are not able to view full pages of website ads but can usually show only text. The wi-fi feature allows users to browse the net without any type of phone connection. You are now able to view any website online. This feature alone puts the Apple Iphone ahead of the rest.
Once the Iphone launch happened, many potential customers really wanted to buy the Iphone to use, but not the phone portion of the Iphone. This is when Apple launched their Ipod Touch. The Ipod Touch has pretty much all the Iphone features without the phone. Apple launched the Ipod Touch in the winter of 2007, less than 6 months after the Iphone launch.
The stock Iphone comes with maps, calendar, clock, calendar, contacts list, Youtube and a Safari browser. Although the software is pretty bare, many engineers are pumping out widgets and gadgets for this device today. The unit has the capability to download music, videos, movies, ebooks, photos and more. The viewing screen is what really sets this music and video player ahead of all the rest. You can browse full page websites with the Safari browser. This is where Apple had gotten it right. Due to having their own successful browser in place, the Safari, they were able to incorporate all the Iphone features with their proprietary software.
This is why the Iphone is here to stay. They have captured market share because they have a product that everyone now wants. They have given the world the next best thing. Now it is our turn to incorporate this device and fill up this product with anything our hearts desire. Start downloading music, sports events, movies, wallpapers and anything you can think of. Do your part because without you, its just a I before the phone.

Both the iPhone and the Tilt are AT&T smartphones (at least in the United States), however, the overall main difference between the iPhone and the AT&T Tilt, according, at least, to the way the two devices are being marketed, is that the iPhone is being targeted more towards the consumer-user and the AT&T Tilt towards the business-user. Both smartphones, however, have excellent qualities appealing to both types of users.
Both the AT&T Tilt and the iPhone are touch screen smartphones, though the iPhone touch screen can be controlled by your fingers whereas controlling the AT&T Tilt touch screen requires using the included stylus. Beyond the touch screen, the iPhone has a single multi-purpose navigator button while the AT&T Tilt has several additional buttons.
Unlike the iPhone, the AT&T Tilt sports a unique screen design that allows users to slide out a full QWERTY keyboard from behind the main casing and tilt the display upwards so the user can view and control the phone similarly to the way one would a laptop or PC. The iPhone is a single candy bar unit with no sliding parts, though both the iPhone and the AT&T Tilt can be turned sideways for a widescreen view of the display screen as an alternative to the standard portrait.
The weaknesses of the feature-rich iPhone are in the way of the basic, essential functions of a smartphone – call quality and speed of the data network. Even though the AT&T Tilt uses the same EDGE data network as the iPhone, the Tilt has a wider array of wireless options available, including access to the 3G network, a feature the current generation of iPhone’s cannot claim (though a 3G iPhone is reportedly in the works). Also, according to a perusal of online customer feedback, the Tilt also boasts superior call quality over the iPhone. Having said that, however, the iPhone has up to 480 minutes of talk-time whereas the max talk time on the AT&T Tilt is only about half that.
In the way of features, the digital camera on the AT&T Tilt is 3.0 megapixels while the iPhone’s is only 2.0 megapixels. The Tilt includes a GPS but the iPhone does not. The call history on the Tilt is more substantial, indicating talk time duration and other details not available in the iPhone’s call history. Likewise, the Tilt displays a distinction between calls received and calls made whereas the iPhone does not. The processor on the AT&T Tilt is significantly slower than that of the iPhone, with a much higher tendency to freeze up and necessitate a reboot. The iPhone has a much larger built-in storage capacity (at 4-8 GB) while the AT&T Tilt can only hold 128 MB.
The major sweeping difference between the two devices is that the iPhone runs on Apple’s Mac OS X while the AT&T Tilt runs on Windows Mobile 6 Professional, which is tantamount to the difference between any Mac PC or laptop and the equivalent Windows PC or laptop. So the AT&T Tilt offers users, for example, the full Windows Office Mobile suite of programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) while iPhone users benefit from all the innovative software resulting from the newly issued iPhone SDK (software development kit). The bottom line here is that, since most computer-users classify themselves as either Mac-people or Windows-people, the decision as to which device is “better” really boils down to one’s personal preference between Mac and Windows.
The AT&T Tilt sells for at least $100 less than the iPhone.
Many iPhone users thought that in order to keep their iPhone lasts for many years, is to go out, search and buy products that can make the iPhone safe throughout its life. Yes, keeping your iPhone safe is really important, but you do not have to buy expensive products for this. In fact, in order to keep your iPhone safe, all you need to do is to clean it. However, we all know that an Apple iPhone is such a unique device and has a sensitive screen, so how and what you use to clean it is more important.
So, what exactly are the tools to clean an Apple iPhone? Believe it or not, all you need is a microfiber cloth and water. Microfiber cloth, that also comes with your iPhone, is available at various iPhone retailers. Generally, cleaning your iPhone with any type of chemical agents such as aerosol sprays, solvents, alcohol, or ammonia, is not advised. Using such chemical agents can cause damage to your iPhone’s screen and can actually hinder the way the screen interacts with you.
When you are cleaning your iPhone, you don’t want to simply wash it with any type of cleaners. You must ensure that you take extra care and most importantly not clean your iPhone if you are in a rush. Cleaning your iPhone when you are in a hurry will only cause damage to your phone. The iPhone might slip out of your hand or you might miss to notice that there’s too much water in the cloth.
So, what exactly are the ways to clean an iPhone safely? First, dip the corner of the cloth into the water, allowing it to become saturated with the water. To make sure that you do not have too much water, grab a piece of glass or go to a mirror, and with the wet cloth wipe off a corner. If there is no streaming water drops coming from where you wiped the mirror, then the cloth is good for cleaning the iPhone. Then, begin to wipe the screen of your iPhone in an up-and-down-motion. Wiping in circles will leave smudges behind that can only be seen when the iPhone is off. Usually, wiping twice is enough to clean the entire surface of your iPhone.
So, how often does your iPhone need to be cleaned? Average users clean their iPhone once every two weeks. But how often you clean your iPhone actually depends on how much you use it. As soon as the oils of your finger begun to build up and create muddy look on the screen, it is time for you to clean your iPhone.
