1. How much is it going to cost me if I purchase insurance from a ‘high street’ provider: At the time this article was published the cost of insuring an iPhone 3Gs was ?15 per month plus VAT. This is quite a substantial amount considering the average tariff is only ?35 per month!
2. How much is it going to cost me if I purchase from a ‘independent’ company: There are thousands and thousands of companies out there promoting different levels of cover at differing costs per month. A reasonable level of cover should cost approximately ?8 per month including VAT.
3. Where else can I get my iPhone insured?:
There are two main options here.
The first is to organize insurance through your bank account provider. Many premium account holders within the UK unknowingly have mobile phone insurance packaged up within their bank account product. Levels of cover will vary from bank to bank, however they should cover up to around ?300 which subsequently wont cover a new iPhone 3Gs. But its not costing you a penny!
