Better integration with iWork – An application suite such as iWork would not be as effective on a device such as the iPhone. The iPad is the perfect environment for it.
Replaces a laptop better – Apple knew that a lot of people wanted a laptop experience but with the interface of an iPhone. Even though they loved how the iPhone worked, there was just no way that you could justify using it as a suitable replacement for a full powered laptop.
